Lyrics

Indian rainsong

It happened a long time ago
when we listened to the indian rainsong
The fire couldn't die, the indians where high
and the spirit was around when they where dancing

The women looked at the warriors
when they danced in circles
Hands in the sky, they didn't know why
but it helped to give them water

The medicine man began to pray
He could stand there day after day
The medicine man said to his people:
Keep on dancing, in Grand Canyon

Screaming voices filled the air,
when the door opened for the tears of heaven,
because the rain makes life
and hopes to survive

The medicine man began to pray
He could stand there day after day
The medicine man said to his people:
The buffaloes need water to survive

Snakes where hiding in the sand
in the hot desert land
and the eagle was flying high
when the rain came from the sky

It happened a long time ago
when we listened to the indian rainsong
The fire couldn't die, the indians where high
and the spirit was around when they where dancing

The medicine man began to pray
He could stand there day after day
The medicine man said to his people:
Keep on dancing, in Grand Canyon
